19780225_National Judo Championships

    The "5th National Championship" organised by the Malta Judo Association, will be held at the St. Andrews Gymnasium, today and tomorrow.
    The "Espoirs" (14/18 years) and "Juniors" (Under 21 years) Championships will start today at 3 p.m.
    The "Senior Open National Championship", the winner of which, qualifies as national Champion for 1978, will be held tomorrow with the Senior Weight categories starting tomorrow at 10 a.m. 
     Dave Starbrooke, M.B.E. 5th Dan and National team manager, for the British Judo Association arrives tomorrow morning and will be present for the Championship.
    Dave Starbrooke was a winner of a bronze medal in the 1972 "Tokyo Olympic Games", and the 1976 "Montreal Olympic Games"; a bronze medallist in the "1975 European Championships" and winner of several other distinctions.
    He will be holding a week's Judo course from next Monday, to Friday, march 3, at the St. Andrws Gymnasium in the evenings. 
    The Course is open for all judokas over 16 years of age with a sound knowledge of Judo. Applications with a £m5.00 course fee, can be submitted to the general treasurer today or tomorrow at the St. Andrews Gymnasium.
