Envic Galea wins prestigous award

Envic Galea read for this degree thanks to the nomination and partial assistance from the Olympic Solidarity.

Liz Terracini, the Alumni & Donor Relations Manager of SCU University informed Envic Galea that this award has been conferred for his achievements in the field of International Sports Management and his contribution to the sport of Judo and youth sportsmen and women.

His nomination was outstanding and identifies him as a leader in his field.

In conferring this award the panel considered amongst other sports activities, the following:

1. International Judo Federation

  1. 1. Relationship with IOC on the setup of the new rules and organisation of the Youth Olympic Games Judo Events in Singapore 2010Development of the first Youth World Championships in 2009 to serve as qualification for the YOG.

    Member of the development commission, responsibility for the Schools & Universities for Coaches and Sport Administrators

  1. Effectively administering the General Secretariat of the Union with its 50 members and 94 yearly international events and spearheading many new successful projects, particularly the Diploma, Foundation and Honours Degree for Judo Coaches at Bath University, England.

  1. Innovative proposals in the Youth Section, where he serves as Youth Director, with the introduction of online services of Talent Identification and Clubmark club qualification, serving to upgrade the services of youth sports in Malta

  1. Effective leadership of the Federation as President, making it one of the most successful  Maltese Sport Organisations

The award will be recognised with a presentation of a certificate and a trophy to be organised in the near future.
